Delicate Soft-RAID problem
I need some reeeeaaaally good advice on this one:
I had a Suse install with a soft-RAID5 containing 4 disks holding just data (no / or /boot) I replaced the Suse with a Redhat 9... the installer found the RAID, but noted it as 'foreign'. Now that the RH9 is in place i can't mount the soft-RAID. Mount either tells me to specify a Filesystem or (when I do specify a filesystem) it tells me the device has or a bad superblock or there are too many filesystems mounted. Maybe also important is that I had to switch all the harddrives to another controller... so HDA,HDB, HDC and HDD that made up the RAID are now HDE,HDF,HDG and HDH... The RAID contains data i can't afford to lose so simply reinstalling is a nono. Is there anyone who can help me get back at my data?? |
