hi all,
I'm new to gnu/linux as many others are. Anyway I found that while using the gimp I had a hard time to get any real accuracy.
I realized that it was an acceleration issue.
Anyway I've found that if you use the 'xset' command you can fine turn your de-acceleration on the mouse.
a simple "xset --help" in console will give you the commands you need.
presently I have my KDE at 1.0 in control panel for the acceleration, and then I just added to my startup the commands to give me de-acceleration.
maybe if you guys post some feedback and you find this valuable we should humbly ask the KDE team to put it in future revisions of the mouse control panel.
for me i have in slackware in my kde autostart (hidden folder)
Quote:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xset m 7/10 5

and I'm using an 800 dpi mouse.
I think gamer's may like this tip, as most games for example like UT2004 give you a way to control your acceleration. But I find in ut2004 that linux is still applying acceleration as I try and slow down to really aim up a shot.
Hope it helps, give me feedback ...maybe I'm crazy but I really find this helps.
