Debian 3.0 didn't like my onboard video, why?

Hello friends,

I have a second pc with the following configuration: K6-2 400 Mhz, 64 MB RAM PC100, 8 GB HD and the motherboard is a Tekhram P5M4-M +. I have already installed some linux distributions, like MDK 9 and Vector Linux, but when I tried to install the Debian 3.0 the video didn't work. The onboard video is a Trident Cyberblade. How can I install the Debian with this motherboard?

if you know the card is supported then you can always install debian... then download the kernel source code from www.kernel.org and build your own kernel... and don't be scared to build your own kernel; its not as hard as everyone makes it sound actually.

when exactly does your problem start ?
does the cd not boot properly (for instance, the screen stays black) or is there some problem during installation ?
or after installation when starting X ?
i write this on a laptop with a trident cyberblade i1, and although somewhat slow, both X ( since version 4) and the kernel framebuffer work fine.
the output of 'lspci' could also help.
