D-Link DWL-650 and Red Hat 9
Hi there,
I just installed Red Hat 9 on my Sony 505-FX (my first ever install), and now I am trying to get my Dlink card (the old Prism version) to run under it.
I went to linux-wlan.org to download the latest drivers. I think I'm going in the right direction, but I have a few questions.
The file I downloaded was linux-wlan-0.3.4.tar.gz. Is that the right file?
I am editing the config.mk file. In the LINUX_SRC entry, I am supposed to enter the directory containing the Linux kernel source code. The default is /usr/src/linux. How do I get the Kernel source to put in this directory? Is this part of the CD install that I need to find?
Also, there is an entry in the config.mk file called PCMCIA_SRC. I could not find any PCMCIA source files in the original file that I downloaded. Does anybody know where I can get that?
I think once I get those questions asked, I can move forward to getting the driver installed. I have no other network options other than wireless, so I really can't get much going until I solve this problem. Thanks a lot for your help!
Thanks,
Robert--
