D-Link DWL-520+ Wireless PCI adapter

Hello,

I am very new to linux and I know absolutely next to nothing about it. This morning I finally managed to install FC3 on one of my old systems. Everything seems to work as it should except for my D-Link DWL-520+ Wireless PCI adapter. Now i think i have downloaded the correct drivers.

I downloaded the following file: acx100-0.2.0pre8_plus_fixes_43.tar.gz

This seemed to be the most recent file. However now that I have this file I have no clue what to do with it. How do I install these drivers? Do I need to write some commands in the terminal? Anyone willing to help out a lost newby?

Thanks.

Tim

DWL 520

Welcome to linux, and your first trouble point! DWL 520 cards are a real fun problem.. There are a few revisions to the 520 and sadly they dont specify which one you got out of the box. If you truly have the 520+ then I believe the only way to get it working correctly right now is by using NdisWrapper and installing the windows driver through that. Its a strange workaround and once you get it up and running it will probably be a little buggy till you work out all the kinks. It was the only way I could get my 520 Rev. D card to work. Check to make sure that Fedora doesnt come with NDISWrapper already installed.
