cupsd has to be restarted for lp0

Dear All,

I have a server that is on Suse 8 using a Lexmark printer with a parallel connection. Everything seems to work ok during the day. Then every morning nothing will print. You can see it queue up, but nothing will print out until you restart cups using Etc/init.d/cups restart. The error log in /var/log/cups/error_log doesn’t really show any problems. The printer was set up in yast2 using lp0. The other servers that I have set up are also Lexmark ,but network. I don’t have this restarting problem with them. Has anyone seen this annoying problem before? Is this something else that I need to set up for a parallel printer using cups that I have overlooked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
