Critical HD Problem

I have a critical hd problem , I'll mention the steps I followed ( briefly )
tring to explain it :

1 ) sys C: to force the system to boot from drive C ( because I already have some problems with hd ).
2 ) logical drives had been lost after reboot .
3 ) installing Mandrake 9.0 , it worked well but it didn't recognize the logical disappeared drives.
4 ) clearing the whole hd using mandrake setup program ( I want to install Xp on another drive ) .
5 ) fdisk .
6 ) fdisk /mbr ( nothing happened ) .
8 ) rebooting , LILO appeared at startup !!

There are a lot of other steps , I'll save them to the following post to solve the problem step by step .

another thing to say is that I have "PartCopy" a utility program writen by John S. Fine <johnfine@erols.com>
it can write a file to the MBR , however what the file that could solve the problem if it is copied to the MBR !?

thanks
