[root@10 Movies]# rpm -i sndconfig-0.70-2.i386.rpm
package sndconfig-0.70-2 is already installed

If you have it installed, then open up an x terminal and give these commands:
Code:
phil@uilleann $ su -
Password: 
root@uilleann # sndconfig
Running that should configure your sound card.

su doesn't give full root power, su - will

│ supported, but yours is currently │
│ disabled. You can possibly fix this by │
│ setting 'PnP OS' to 'no' in your BIOS

If Plug and Pray is enabled in BIOS, the settings will be changed on each boot so the card will end up being disabled because of these changes.

On bootup, press the needed keys to enter your BIOS (possibly delete, will vary with mobo mfg) and set PnP OS to no.
