creative vibra 128 on redhat 9
Hi all .
just install redhat 9 . but as always my sound card wont work . (creative vibra 128) anyway . just want to ask how to install it . thx in advance . . . |
Is that an ISA card? Try installing sndconfig and run that to configure it.

no luck sndconfig is not working for some reason .

msconfig is a Microsoft program for Windows 98, not Linux. No wonder it won't work; :rolleyes:
If you try sndconfig and get this: Code:
bash: sndconfig: command not found |
sndconfig wont work .

sndconfig isn't installed by default, so before you can use it, you must install it. Have you done so?

I dotnload sndconfig-0.70-2.i386.rpm and for some reason it wont install

Did you use rpm -Uvh sndconfig-0.70-2.i386.rpm to install it? Also, were you the root user when you did that? The root user is like the administrator in windows systems. Hope this helps. |
when i use my root acount it wont work at all .
but with my user account it eror : error: cannot get exclusive lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm |
any ideas why ?
