Creative PC-DVD 8X support?

Hello there!

I have a Creative PC-DVD 8X player for my computer. I would like to run DVDs through it on Linux. However, it is only recognised now as /mnt/cdrom (a cdrom drive). Is there any current software that supports this? Is there special medicine I must give it to get it to work?

Thanks!
