creative live drive infrared i/F not properly working with alsa
 

Hello everybody
i have an issue trying to get my old Creative Live platinum soundcard ir i/f (chip emu10k1) working with KXstudio.

Infact having set ir_enable=1 in the options of alsa configuration, when i try to "cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0" afetr reboot and pressing button on RM-900 remote control, i dont get any code on the screen ..
To have the infrared interface of live drive acquire correct code with the above command, i have to
"#sudo alsa force-relaod"
after that, when "cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0"
some codes are printed on the screen when any button is pressed on the remote control.

So the question is:
why do i have to force the restart of alsa to get it works?

this is blocking point for me because i cannot use lirc to set my aplplication responding to RM-900 remote control

any help will be appreciated
