Creative Labs Soundblaster Awe64 Gold

Hi,

I seem to be having a problem with my Creative Labs Soundblaster Awe64 Gold (isa) sound card. The problem is that I can't get mandrake to even detect the stupid card. I have try everything i know (which is limited).I have tryed to use sndconfig and when the list of soundcards comes up there is nothing there. I have also tryed the kde config tools with no such luck, its like linux doesn't even know i have a sound card. I get no error messages like in other case i get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! I'm sure the stupid card workes because i'm using a dual booting system and it seems to work on every other os i have. I'd love it if someone would prove how stupid i am and help me with this little probelm of mine.

The village idiot,
Zuke

Well, you'll probably need to do it the old cryptic way using isapnp and configure it manually to get going.
This card should use the sb sound module which should come with your distro. Also make sure PNP is turned off in your BIOS.

Try reading this thread, should be along the same way to get your card working.
