Creative Labs SB Live! 5.1 sound card (CT4830) .. Compatible??

Hi. I was wondering if this soundcard is fully supported. I'm looking for a new card, that won't give me trouble. Someone recommended that I get an SB live.

-edit

I don't know of a difference, but I also found a SoundBlaster LIVE! Digital SB0220

Is there a difference? If so..is this compatible as well?

the soundblaster sound cards are usually compatible with Linux. The SB Live! is listed in the supported linux sound cards (http://www.linux.com/howtos/Sound-HOWTO/x96.shtml) according to the HOW-TO. Not sure about the second one. Have a look at the http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ web site and look for it.

SB Live! 24 Bit

I am using a SB Live! 24 Bit and got it working with the ca-0106 alsa drivers. It works ok, the only problem I have is in programs with small sound files (like CIV:CTP) but for playing music and the pretty sounds from the gui it works fine.
