Crashing VGA display driver in Debian 7

Hi there,

I'm having some issues with random crashes of the display driver of my notebook.
The windows on my screen suddenly get "jumbled" and freeze. The laptop itself stays responsive but the output doesn't change.

Dmesg gives the following information which seems to relate to the crash:
Code:
[ 7.547438] ACPI: Requesting acpi_cpufreq
[ 7.547954] input: Video Bus as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A03:00/LNXVIDEO:01/input/input6
[ 7.548412] ACPI: acpi_idle registered with cpuidle
[ 7.548800] ACPI: Video Device [VID1] (multi-head: yes rom: no post: no)
[ 7.548825] [Firmware Bug]: Duplicate ACPI video bus devices for the same VGA controller, please try module parameter "video.allow_duplicates=1"if the current driver doesn't work.
lspci output:

Have you tried the option suggested in the dmesg output? "video.allow_duplicates=1"

Unfortunatly the suggestion didn't fix the problem.
If you need more information please let me know.
