CPU & Memory specific drivers

Hi

I have heard it is possible to add some files to my linux system which will make it run faster, using more specific drivers for my CPU and my memory.

Is this true and where shall I start looking? By that I mean what should I type in to find out the information I need and then where do I start looking

Thanks for your time,

Rob

I think that you are referring to kernel parameters. When you compile a kernel there are hardware parameters that you can set which will affect the speed of your CPU and memory usage.
