Ok guys so here it goes....

I'm still relatively new to linux I had installed Red-Het and then relized it wasn't very good for media so I installed mandrake instead. now I am running Mandrake 10.1.

Chapter 1: Feedback in my soundcard

So I have an integrated sound card (Shuttle MB with Via Drivers). It worked fine under Red-Het but now that I have installed mandrake I get sound but I also get a buzzing feedback. any ideas how to fix that?

Chapter 2: Capture card woes

I have an ATI capture card (TVwonder not AllInWonder) KDETv which came standard on mandrake does not capture the video right, the screen is fuzzy and the to 1/3 is cut off and replaced by a bright green letterbox-type area at the bottom also the picture only comes in in black and white. I figure this MAY have something to do with frequency but I am not advanced enough to mess with that.

the via card isn't the greatest under linux...

Use drakeconf or whatever mandrake calls their system configurator... and check out your soundcard.. and look for other drivers...

I used to have a via82cxxx onboard.. and it was choppy with the one driver... better with the other..
