Short version of a long story...I have a Linux DVD disc for SuSE9.2 (standard version) that I received with a magazine I bought and I was somehow hoping
to convert to it to CD-ROM... I dont have a DVD disc on my Linux box but I want to try and install some of the programs onto my SuSE9.1 Pro partition.

Does anyone have an ideas/thoughts on how to do this....or even if it's possible.

i assume you have a dvd drive on a different box ?
flip open the case, and just for the install, stick the dvd reader in your linux box.

Only other option would be to look up what packages are needed for a bare minimum install, and make a cd conatianing only those packages, and putting all the remaining packages onto other cd's.

then you could boot your disk1 cd, perform the minimal install.
then manually install packages on the other cd's from there.

im not sure how to burn bootable cd's but i know it is possable.

i would probably either just download the cd iso's / re-order, or borrow a dvd drive.
