conversion of dynamic ".so" library to ststic ".a" library


hey i was having a problem with linking my dynamic libraries while runtime..the executable is giving a segmentation fault...is there any way to correct this or is there a utility to convert dynamic library to a static library..

Static means something doesn't require shared libraries. Did you try ldconfig in runlevel 1? /sbin/init 1 Are you trying to write software, or are you a user?

hey..!!
Im trying to build up a software..and i did try ldconfig. I did even try debug tool & foibd out that the error was coming in a library "ld-linux" which i found out was used to link dynamic libraries in linux..the compiler is not even going to the 'main'..!! can this be a problem of using a different toolchain..bcoz i even tried that..but no use..help me out
