Connecting LG240 Mobile Phone With USB Cable

I have a fairly old LG240 mobile phone. in Windows 7 it used to connect by installation of USB Modem, then plugging in connecting cable to USB socket. I contacted LG support to see if there was Linux support, but knowing the Linux community they like brain teasers. So has anyone any ideas on how to do this?

My Linux distro is Linux Mint Mate 17.3.

something like this?
it should just connect as a usb device. no extra setup required.
why don't you try it?

Thanks ondoho for your reply but not that simple the phone isn't recognised. I know that automatically Linux Mint loads modem drives, however no go.

you want to use it as a modem???
i.e., connect to the internet with it?
please confirm this.
i think i once did that with a nokia. it's possible but not straightforward.

Hi Ondoho, What I want to do is transfer any .jpg photos taken with the built in Camera to my Lenovo Laptop. Then I can edit them. For Windows 7 there's a usb modem installation (drivers for several LG models) that connects from an LG Desktop Window. When connecting it stopped the phone recieving, sending or being able to use as a phone. I have no Internet on it or otherwise I would forward via Internet.

the one i linked previously has an unspecified operating system, a usb 2.0 connector (?) and the possibility to insert a micro sd card.
with a usb cable, it should simply connect as a usb device.
maybe there's something in the settings, where you can choose between different connection modes (my nokia had that).
that's all i can say.
