Configuring sound....
 

Well, it has been quite some time since I have posted here (I usually spend a lot of time on justlinux), but I have a few questions I have not found the answers to this past few months.

1) Saving and restoring mixer settings for OSS modules by editing the modules.conf file. How do you do that ?


2) Since the ALSA devel team is incapable of properly documenting their software (and they want to replace OSS with ALSA?!), I need to know how to switch the third output on the SB Live cards (the center/ lfe channel) from digital to analog.

3) Getting the rear speakers to work with ALSA

I have been using OSS drivers for everything. It is really dissapointing that they can't document this a little better. I tried posting on the alsa mailing lists, but no one ever answers....
