I own a Canon Pixma iP1000 provided by my employer and use turboprint as the drivers. All works/worked well.
I am dabbling with Debian testing at the moment (Etch) and one of the bugs that I am trying to iron out relates to getting my printer to work.
First, under stable, I simply ran xtpsetup in turboprint and added my printer from the list. Pas de problem, black, colour all good.
Running through the same under Etch has produced a strange problem:
The printed is registered as usb://Canon/iP1000
Labelled tp0
Sending a testpage gives the message: Processing page 1...
But no output from the printer
The printer is also registered under CUPS and shows the testpage queued up. Still no output if I sent a testpage from CUPS as well.
All pretty standard so far, obviously a config. problem...
Opening Abiword and printing a document from there...
It works fine!
This is confusing now....
I haven't tried gimp as yet but adobe acrobat does not print and evince does. I use adobe for its multiple page per sheet facility that evince has but in non functional.
Does anyone have any ideas about this Jekyll and Hyde situation?
