Could you repeat that a little better? I did not understand what you wanted.

sorry, lets try again...

I have a notebook and I just connected a second Monitor on it. The second monitor displays the same image that is in the notebook, so I have 2 monitor and the same desktop, a mirrowed desktop. Buttttt I want that my second monitor to display 1 desktop and the notebook to display other desktop... like a Extended desktop.... ok ?

Like in windows when you connect to monitors and want to display 2 desktops, like a continuation of the first one in the second....

hope you understand now.

Was looking for an answer to this question also. I expect that many
who use laptops would be setting up extended desktop, and I would
be surprised if there is not a simple solution to doing so with linux
somewhere.
Did find one paper on the subject so far. Will give it a try when I get
a chance. Being still a newbie it will take a while. The following may
be helpful. Would really like to see a simpler solution though.

I expect that eventually the XF86Config programs will be written
to simplify setting up the vga port on the laptops.
