Conexant AccessRunner Working?
 

I have an AMX-CA80U-2M-annexA ADSL modem ´AMIGO´ which main chips is a Conexant AccessRunner CX82320-13 and i need to know if there are drivers for this modem in linux, because i want to configure a router.

Do the drivers in sourceforge for Conexant work?

Yes Linux has drivers for your modem.... the drivers in sourceforge for conexant should work... be sure to read the readme and install documents before you install...

Thank you very much, i have another question, do you know what linux distribution should i use?

I want to configure a linux router, but the pc i have for that is a PENTIUM 133MHZ - 32MG RAM - 2.1G HARD DISK - but the problem is that it has a Motherboard Pc chips with an onboard Davicom Network and i also have an old isa Network.
is it possible??

hmm... judging from your computer specs, i suggest that you use lighter distros... like Libranet, Vector Linux, Peanut Linux, knoppix, etc.... you could also try Slackware but you have to trim down the packages....

I also suggest that you use lighter Window Mangers like Blackbox and Fluxbox instead of Gnome and KDE....

Heres a short discription of some of the distros i mentioned:

Peanut Linux : Peanut Linux is what I like to call a "Psuedo-Embedded" distro. It is very small (approx. 85Meg download, last I checked), runs very lean, and yet contains a wide variety of desktop applications. This makes it a perfect desktop or gaming OS. It's not proven to be easy to upgrade (as a matter of fact, there have been some major compatability breaking changes in it the last few versions), but it is simple enough to install and setup that for very limitted uses

Vector Linux: This is another "Psuedo-Embedded" distro similar to Peanut (as a matter of fact, I think Peanut may have been originally based on this). It is another very lean and light distro perfect for desktops and gaming.

Knoppix: Also lightweight distro. Excellent hardware autodetection, runs directly from CD without hard disk installation, can be used as an recovery tool.

Thank you very much, i´ll start to investigate on the linux you are telling, my doubt is if with those distributions the drivers and the usb for the adsl modem will work.

I know Freesco (which doesn´t support usb) and tried with ipcop, but i wasn't able to configure it and it didn´t worked with my modem. Is this kind of linux what you are telling me??

I thought i could install a distribution like redhat 9 the last slackware and use it without xwindows, from the console, with no graphics interface, is it possible, what do you think?
