Conexant 2388x TV chip and lirc_gpio module

HELP !!

I have Winfast Leadtek 2000 XP card and I have installed the latest csv version of lirc module.
In order to use lirc it seems that lirc_gpio module is needed. Lirc_gpio requiers card type information from bttv module. My card should be detected by bttv module properly, but bttv do not recognize my card because Leadtek operates on cx8800 module. Is my way of thinking correct ?

Best regards !!!

Your thinking is correct. And as of now cx8800 module does not support remote control.
BTW: in kernel 2.6 the remote control is supposed to be supported by the kernel itself (ir-kbd-gpio module). But it also requires bttv, so it doesn't work either...

Best regards.
