make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.

I have saved ALSA packages to /home/"my name"/Documents. I'm a total noob. Also when I issue alsamixer I get:

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory
Please help. Just how do I get this A7V8X-X mobo's sound card to work.
