nothing comes up when i turn the power on, i had to install a new power supply cause the other one burnt out. could the burn out have blown something?? the cpu fan starts up but thats it, not even the hard drive. the hd light on the front turns on but it doesn't do anything.there is a red light on the mother board labels +led1 and it's light up. I tryed a dif harddrive, didn't do anything. any suggestions?? do you think it could have blown the mother board?

Is it a Dell? They wire their mobos/power supplies with some connections reversed from standard. You can fry the motherboard if you don't use a Dell replacement.

Could be any or all... motherboard, CPU I/O cards ...
Try disconnecting everything from the motherboard. If it still doesn't beep then its either the motherboard or CPU.

Not everything. You need PS, MOBO, memory and video card minimum for the post.

I don't really know how to tell without some expensive shop equipment. Just use your senses to give you some hints.
1. Sight: examine cpu/mobo carefully for any obvious problems, ie burnt / popped resistors/capacitors, broken print on the mobo or loose solder connections. Unseat and reseat cpu and memory, examining pins and sockets.
2. Smell: can you smell anything burnt on the motherboard?
3. Touch: does the cpu/memory/power components on the board get too hot when powered on?
4. Sound: any strange sounds heard?
5. Taste: don't taste electronics.
