Compiling 2.6.10 on Slack 10.1: what menu_config option for SoundMAX driver

Hi,

As the title says, I'm trying to compile 2.6.10 on Slack 10.1 to move up from 2.4.x so my USB hotplug works (which it now does).

However, I've not been able to get a new kernel where my audio works. What entry in the Drivers > Sound part of menu_config should I use for my laptop's SoundMAX integrated audio 5.1 hardware? I'm getting bored of compiles that give me audio errors..

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Not sure... I would be looking through the ALSA section... But don't know which driver, sorry... Any idea of the actual chipset? Compile in all the modules maybe :)

Does it work with the 2.4 kernel? what module does it use?

BTW, why not compile a recent kernel like 2.6.15.4 while you are at it?
