Question Compile aic79xx module for Adaptec 29320-R SCSI host adapter

Hello people,

I'm new to this site and I've been searching for help on how to compile aic79xx module for Adaptec's 29320-R SCSI host adapter. The distribution of Linux is RedHat 7.2. Adaptec currently offers drivers for this Linux distro and it also offers the source code for the driver (in a tar.gz archive). The problem is that I want to compile the latest kernel of the 2.4.x stable series (as I speak is 2.4.20) with the Adaptec driver. When extracting the gzipped archive, a scsi directory is created with several files. Unfortunately, Adaptec does not give any instructions on how to incorporate this directory under the 2.4.20 kernel source directory and compile the kernel with the driver as a module.

Can anyone help me on this one?

Regards,
Vasilis

Cheers,
Tink
