Compatible Sound Cards with linux?


Hey i recently install OpenSuse 10.3 and i discovered that linux does not support Creative sound cards. Im posting to if you guys could give me an idea of what kind of sound cards are compatible with Linux. I am a gamer and i use surround sound speakers just a fyi. Also vista compatible if possible.

Kernal linux 2.6.27.5-31 default
Intel pent d cpu 2.80ghz

OpenSuse does support Creative sound cards - have a look at http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Sound_Cards for information on which cards and which features are supported. Do you have a Creative card that you can't get running? If so, can you tell us what you did and what errors you got?

gilead i didnt do anything to the sound card.. it said it didnt work. i looked the card up online and people were saying that it wasnt able to run with linux. I looked up that website saw that audigy 2 was compatible so im thinking i would like to get this card.
