Compatibility of Wireless USB Hubs (not the type that runs over network)
I'm considering purchasing a wireless USB hub so I can do my gaming/other stuff on a TV without stringing cords across my living room. I am considering something similar to these:

Belkin Wireless USB Hub (Model No. F5U301)

IOGEAR Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit (Model No. GUWH204KIT)

I did a little searching on the topic and what I'm coming up with is a slightly different device, where it uses your wireless network to complete the connect. The above products don't use your wireless network, the consist of a small USB device that plugs into your computer and USB hub device that are paired to each other. I figured they would come paired and you just plug-n-play but that doesn't seem to be the case; you have to pair them on the computer.

So my question is: does anyone have this working on any distribution, and if so, how did you do it to work?

You are using the wrong words maybe to search.

You want USB over ethernet (or IP) I think.

Sample site but many other ways exist.

No, the products I've listed above specifically do not use any type of IP/ethernet connection, or any typical network connection. They consist of a USB hub and a USB stick that are paired to each other using the software provided by the company (similar to blue tooth pairing).
