Question compatibility / drivers / mpeg2<>dvd


id like to find a gnu/linux distro that is compatible with my creative pc-dvd (mpeg2 decoder board mk5000 + matsushita panasonic dvd-rom drive SR-8581)
i want to use the decoder card : i dont want to bypass it using the processor.
im thinking about (k)ubuntu.
i have the old win95 drivers if needed.
advices welcome ^^

PS: integratewith(dot)net linux hardware scanner < is there an alternative for windows 95?
