Compaq smart array controller with Red Hat 8, etc
Because of an emergency problem with a db driver, our db vendor is going to walk my boss through installing Red Hat 8 and the Linux version of their db. He's on his way over there right now, but I'm just wondering if all the hardware will work, and if your gut feeling is that it might not, I'm wondering what I can do to prepare for that to make sure we can get it working.
It's a Compaq 8500R with 4 Pentium III processors and a RAID 5 controller. There are two Compaq NIC cards and a 3Com 3C996. I figure the NIC cards should be no problem, but what about the RAID?
