Question Compaq multimedia keyboard problem

Hi everyone, I could use a hand to put my multimedia keyboard to work.
I've read several threads about it but I don't get even the xev keycodes (I've also tried showkeys -s and -k with no output at all).
The keyboard is the Compaq Internet Keyboard (13 keys), I'm running LFS 6.0 (I get the same behaviour on Red Hat 8.0 and Slackware 9.0) on a Compaq Presario 5203, with
If it helps, here's my keyboard configuration from xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "Protocol" "Standard"
Option "XkbLayout" "la"
Option "XkbModel" "compaqik13"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "Autorepeat" "250 30"

I first noticed this when I tried to use lineak, maybe I'm leaving something out?
This is driving me crazy, so I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance...
