Cold Boot Problem (system Freezing)

Suse 10.2 locks up when I start from a complete shutdown. Suse does completely loads and i get into KDE but after its up and running for a couple minutes the system freezes.

after doing a restart suse works fine.

any one know what would cause this? is it a known issue?

specs
AMD X2 4200, ATI Xpress 3200 skt939, 2gigs OCZ Platinum, x1800gto, Soundblaster audigy 2, 400watt modular PSU
2x WD sata 80GIG hdd

i have had system lockups in suse 10.1 and i have noticed that it occurs only when i am in the X window system, i noticed that you have an ATI card (as i do too) and i remember looking through the updater update list and it said something of the ATI drivers causing crashes in X, unfortunately i am on dial up and have not had the time to update, so i cannot tell you if it is the fix or not...
