codes used in console configuration map

Hello all,

I´m curious about something. In the keytable map in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/... you see some codes as ¨stirling¨, ¨currency¨ and so on. How are these decoded? Is their meaning defined in the kernel or is there some other file? Of course I´m working in console-mode.

Thanks a lot

Ronald

I'm using Slackware, not SUSE, but the following might be helpful to you:

Code:
man keymaps
man loadkeys
man dumpkeys
man showkey
Hope this helps.
