cmpxchg and radeon.o
 

I want drm to work in debian on my radeon 7500M which I did have once but now I started over.
I got the radeon.o for XFree86 4.3.0 from xfree86.org/~alanh/ and replaced my old one. But I am getting an error when starting X that I can't figure out:

/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/drm/radeon.o: unresolved symbol cmpxchg
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/drm/radeon.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/drm/radeon.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/drm/radeon.o: insmod radeon failed

This question has been asked in the middle of a thread before but not answered.

NB: The error msg isn't mine but I can't copy from my console and it's basicly the same error except that i have kernel 2.4.25
