Clueless...

My pc has a new habbit of just shutting down. It happens at all possible times but mostly when using win on the second hdd. Strangely on debian on disk 1 not much happends, it does happen but only onces every few days (you get used to it and days seems like endless stability).
I tried removing the 2 hdd but still the shut down happens. If I'm on the 2nd hdd it happens every few hours so it must have something to do with that bugger.
I disconnected everything I could but still it returns. I checked all possible things (I can think of anyway) so I guess it must be the power supply. Before running to the store...any other things I should check?

Oh, during gaming on win its always a sure thing to happen....

Regards

Seems that disable APG fast write in the bios is making it all a bit better................still not there though.
Stange that a system runs for about 2 years with no problems and now starts acting up...

sounds to me like your power supply is going bad, or doesn't have enough juice for everything in the box. have a look at this

http://www4.tomshardware.com/howto/20040122/

http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/

good luck.

Thanx guys, you must be right btw. This morning it won't even boot anymore. Just powering up results in an almost imediate shut down. After work it's time to get a new power supply!

have a look at

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati....asp?CatId=106

http://www.newegg.com/app/SearchProd...ult.asp?DEPA=0

they have pretty competitive prices, unless you've got a local store, then you'll save on the shipping.
good luck.
