clearing RAM

I've noticed that after about a day of uptime my PC get's incredibly laggy (a 30 second wait to change between desktops in KDE). I had a look at the sysmonitor and everything is fine accept my RAM, which completely full. I have 128MB and it doesn't feel like a hardware problem - I just wondered if there was a command or an app which'll clear out your memory. Any help would be great.

The fullness of RAM has nothing to do with it, how fast is your computer? look for unneeded services that are kept running on the system. Check if your memory is leaky - memtest86

Linux handles memory tru the kernels' scheduler. Before you point at the RAm please use top(1) or free(1) to determine what is using your CPU, RAM and hardware. Stuff you wanna tweak wrt the VM part, like amount of memory used for cache, writing and other caching behaviour is done tru sysctl(1), the entries live in /proc/sys/vm, and the docs are in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/(vm.txt?)

This is about the umpht time this question is asked. Please use the search engine. We really need a Frequently Answered Questions page by now.
