chipset / speed isuees

i currently own an aopen ax45-4d max main board and am getting very upset with the driver support. as u know this uses the sis chipsets and as im left to find i dont like the support drivers for the sis chipset. would an intel chipset board fix this or am i doing something wrong

Chipset/speed issues, as in the machine is just sluggish? Slow how, graphics? check the base fps you can get out of X-windows with:


Drive access? What're your board drives running ATA-wise?

hdparm -i /dev/hda
hdparm -Tt /dev/hda

What's the chip and the RAM, is the match good, is the RAM really cheap?
