Changing to a different Video Card

I have installed another video card in my Fedora 5 system and now I cannot get any video and boot into GDM. From the command line how would I install this new card or is there a program that will simplify the process?

I know fedora has a special utility to automate the installation of the video card - however, usually, kudzu would have autodetected it. You may want to have a look at your syslog (dmesg) to see if there are any notices or errors concerning a new card.

The standard way to get X to use your new card is to directly edit the xorg.conf file (vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf in text mode) ... you want to replace the entry for your old card with the entry for your new one.

Note: which card this is will be important: some cards require third party drivers (i.e. ATI and nVidia).

I don't use FC5, but you could try running
Code:
xorgconfig

It is system-config-display for FEDORA 5. But I will try xorgconfig and see what that does. system-config-display is very generic. thanks
