Changing the mother board

Hello folks,
I had FC4.

Then the mother board went faulty.
I replaced it with another piece of same type (same make and model).

Now the linux is not booting.

Will I have to re-install everything again.

I am a bit curious as to will I have trouble if I change my CD Drive with a CD (R/W)+DVD -R combo ?

Thanks in advance.

What exactly happens when you try to start?

It sounds more like the board is not detecting your drive, or is not set to boot from it.

Sounds like something else is going on here. Because of hardware detection and the way modules work you can pretty much plug a disk into a completely different machine and it should boot. I did that myself when I bought an entirely new machine, plugged my old drives into it and it required very little mucking around to make work.
