Change Video Driver - Hi Redhat Fedora Core 5
Hi all,
Each time I build a Fedora Core 5 box the install automatically chooses a video driver. it is the wrong driver, as the display is a mess and unreadable. How do I change the video driver prior to boot? From the command line (non gui boot is fine)? Thank you, Rhyder |

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I get to the command line? My RH FC 5 box keeps on booting to the illegible GUI screen, and pressing F8 gets me to the grub loader.
Thank you for your help, Rhyder |
When the Grub splash screen is displayed press the 'Esc' key.
Highlight the Linux boot choice and press the 'e' key Highlight the kernel line and press the 'e' key again At the end of the line add a space followed by the number 3 Press the 'Enter' key followed by the 'b' key Log on as root. |
Thank you for your quick reply, I edit to get the following boot command:
root (hd0,0) 3 I then press "b", the machine boots, but still goes to the GUI... hmmm? |
Thanks! I got it to work!
