change cdrw speeds (what file)

My problem: My cd-rw won't work above speeds 20x anymore (it was manufactured for 52x)

Solution: In winblows, i got nero drivespeed and reduced the read/write speed down. My question to you guys is what file i need to change to reduce the default rw speed.

Are you looking for this file?
/etc/cdrecord.conf

you should also be able to specify the speed

(identify device)
# cdrecord --scanbus
Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 Jörg Schilling
Linux sg driver version: 3.1.22
Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) *
0,1,0 1) *
0,2,0 2) *
0,3,0 3) *
0,4,0 4) 'PLEXTOR ' 'CD-R PX-W4220T' '1.01' Removable CD-ROM
0,5,0 5) *
0,6,0 6) *
0,7,0 7) *

for data (after mkisofs)
cdrecord -v speed=4 dev=0,4,0 -data /archive/image.iso
----------

for music
cdrecord -v speed=4 dev=1,4,0 -audio /archive/tr*
----------

do a man on mkisofs and cdrecord for more info,
