Hi,

Which version of CentOS did you exactly install? Which driver do you use in Xorg? What does Xorg.0.log tell you about resolution change? Are there any entries?

bobba.surendra 01-03-2011 09:07 AM

centos 5.5

my main concern is about vlc interface though

lazlow 01-03-2011 09:38 AM

VLC having two separte "boxes" one for video one for control is normal for linux. You can also right click on the video screen and most of the controls are there as well.

adamk75 01-03-2011 09:51 AM

Your log file, what little you've shown of it, shows that you are using the intel drivers. What's the output of 'glxinfo | grep -i render'?

EDIT:

As for vlc... 0.9.9 is pretty old, certainly old enough that I don't remember where the option is, but I know that vlc supports multiple interfaces. Did you check the options to change the interface to something more suitable?

Adam

bobba.surendra 01-04-2011 03:41 AM

it gives

direct rendering: No
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect

yeah i tried the options of vlc to check for a better interface but nothing

adamk75 01-04-2011 04:31 AM

Please show us the full /var/log/Xorg.0.log file. And please use

tags around it.

As for VLC, all I can suggest is trying a newer version.

Adam
