CDRom to CD-RW

Hi,

I want to replace my cd drive with an inexpensive cd burner (internal) on my eMachine 633is.

Which one will work with WinME and Linux RH9?
Where do I look for the information?

All recent Writers are supported. For a specific recommendation, I have used the latest Liteons and Samsungs and both work extremely well. I think the Liteon 48 and 52 speed machines are the best value.
