cdrecord returns wrong startsec warning
In using cdrecord with an ide cdburner, I get this warning:

cdrecord: WARNING: Driver returns wrong startsec (0) using -150
writing pregap for track 1 at -150

cdrecord correctly identifies the drive as a _NEC CD-RW NR-9100A

I am writing in dao mode and specify a -tsize and -burnfree.

IT WORKS, but I was hoping someone might understand the warning. I searched and found it included in many posts but could not find an explanation.

Basically, this is a warning that the burner is returning some type of "unexpected" result code to an operation. The 2nd line seems to indicate that cdrecord is compensating appropriately. In other words, "hey, the hardware's odd, but I'll fix it for you". As I understand it, there's nothing to be worried about.
