Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

CD tray doesn't close with command

I'm trying to close the CD tray with the command eject -T on a laptop. It works only to open it, but not to close it, i have to do it with my hands.
Is there any way to fix it?

Not all drives support automatic closing. Laptops especially often lack motorized trays and only have a simple latch-and-spring system. Does this drive have a motorized tray? Have you seen it close on it's own with other programs before?

Also, the eject man page states clearly that "Some devices do not support the tray close command."
