CD-ROM failed during boot...

I get this error during Boot: <6>cdrom: open failed.

Also, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM are not showing in 'My Computer' unless I put a disk in.
They work Ok, but just curious about the errors

Am running SuSE 9.3

The errors aren't important, btw, but here is the logic.

You can't mount an IDE CD-ROM device of any kind without media in the drive.

Also, remember that in Linux, audio CDs aren't mountable as they contain cdda (Compact Disk Didigtal Audio) files rather than data files.

I can't seem to make my drives work like I want
