Angry CD-Drives and floppy drives

I recently installed Mandrake Linux 9 on my computer. With other distros including Mandrake 8.2 and Lycoris the CD/DVD and floppy drives work

With Mandrake 9 though on both of my computers the drives read for a few minutes and then things start to go wrong. I keep getting the message that certain files on the CD can not be found and then eventually the whole drives files can't be found!! This happens on floppy disk as well. Then I have to reboot to read the drives again but only for a few minutes.

Whats wrong with it? Its really annoying!! It happens on all of my computers with Mandrake 9

Can anybody help me??!

It happens with all CD's and also floppy disks. These disks work fine with other distros. Including Mandrake 8.2

a)What I mean is where did you get your Mandrake install CD's . . .
B) There was a problem (and bugfix) with supermount, you might look in that direction. Install, go to the MCC and do all the bugfixes updates . . . ( ? )
