CD Driver Disappeard

I moved things around inside my computer cause i all the cablinfg was wrong, i had linux installed before I did that and i was able to read the cd player and the cd writer now i can olny read the cd writer but on the bios at the boot up i can see that it recongise the cd player so it's not the cd player that is a problem also on the boot up linux gives a message saying that it was unable to mount the drive, could it be becouse icd player used to be on IDE1 channel now is on the 2nd

yeah thats your problem, if it was on the first being /dev/hda or/dev/hdb adn u moved it to the 2nd channel, its now on /dev/hdc or /dev/hdd

yes you right i saw that but how do i fix in so that i can see what's in the cd it doesn't even show me the cd under the mnt folder
